Post by Krampusuke on Jan 21, 2018 17:00:26 GMT -5
After about an hour of investigating, Krampusuke appeared over the intercom once again and asked everyone to proceed up to the Lodge Roof as quickly as they could. However, after some time, it appeared that only 8 people made it to the roof top in a reasonable amount of time. Krampusuke had the sleigh ready, but still, 2 faces appeared to be missing among the expected crowed. After some time of waiting, Shimakage and the Utazawa scrambled up the steps of the lodge leading to the rooftop. Krampusuke seemed pretty upset at the two boys making everyone late. He waggled his pitchfork in their general direction and stomped the ground with his plush feet. With that, everyone hopped into the sleigh and headed off to the Trial Tower. Once the sleigh landed on the top of the tower, everyone was instructed to rush down to the bottom, taking the long spiral staircase. This time the trial room seemed to have a more desert like feel. The ground was covered in a thin layer or sand, the walls were painted a sky blue with some clouds, and there was a small potted cactus in the corner. After everyone made their way to their assigned seats, Krampusuke gave a brief explanation of the class trial.

Crossing his arms, Ootani takes in a deep breathe upon hearing Osatsu's joke. Exhaling, he opens his eyes and looks at Osatsu. After giving the comedian a disapproving look, he looks over at the right side of the room, frowning. Wow.., it really was bare bones. Six people have been killed because of all those... stupid motives that Krampusuke kept giving out. It was really starting to wear Ootani out. Just how much longer do they have to keep doing this?Adjusting the lasso that was still hanging around his shoulder, he gets out his notepad. He... honestly didn't know how to start this.

"O-Osatsu-san...."
The shrine maiden's voice has stuttered as it chimed in to respond to Osatsu's joke. The look on her face seemed of eyes that were pleading.
"I think- we should save the jokes for little later... if it is not much to ask..."
She had sighed deeply. Seeing two of her classmates bodies had overwhelmed her- but she was still trying, despite how exhausted she felt- she still would keep trying.
So when Shimakage had spoken, the shrine maiden had immediately.
"Besides that- I do not believe Utazawa-san has any reason to be suspected- after all, he was one of the first students to discover the bodies... was he not?"

Yanagi hadn't investigated much- as he had checked over the rooms, they seemed well-searched, or at least well taken care of by the people there, so Yanagi had kept to himself, quiet and simply glad that he didn't die because of the game- which, he supposed, was selfish. Even so, he was sad looking at the files, confused about how someone could pull off two murders-
But before he had much time to really think about it, he was whisked away to the trial room which... Looked really, really empty, now. He spared a distraught glance to Osatsu at their joking, and finally a saddened one to Shimakage, alone in a sea of empty podiums- and he knew he'd get in trouble for crossing to him, but a part of him wanted to just because he looked so lonely.
(Begone, gay thoughts- you're in a trial, for fuck's sake.)
"Oh, um... I wanted to ask if anyone got a better chance to investigate Suzuki-san's body?"

He looks at his shoulder, letting out a sigh upon looking at the aforementioned object. Well-- it could have reached up to the lights that were way up there! But he was pretty sure they weren't sturdy enough-- they'd probably break off once Marugou was halfway through the climb. And that would have been bad.

The topic of conversation seems, at least for the time being, to be drifting towards Suzuki, and Shimakage can't help but roll his eyes. Krampusuke may have given them the choice of which murder to solve, but as far as Shimakage was concerned, they would be foolish not to focus on Ishida. Not only was Suzuki's body inaccessible, but they also weren't given a cause of death, making the entire investigation pointless. He knows, intellectually, that acting callous towards the audio engineer will almost certainly infuriate some of his classmates - Isayama, perhaps, since she was too kind-hearted for her own good - but he also doesn't care. (He doesn't care about any of them.)

Ootani couldn't really argue that they should focus more on Ishida-- especially since they had more evidence on that body than Suzuki's. Considering none of them could get on the catwalk. With a sigh, he listens in on Shimakage's words, lightly tapping his pen onto his notepad. Oh, that was, kind of bad, wasn't it! Frowning, he glances over to his left side-- looking at the Astrologist. He didn't want to think she could have tried setting Utazawa up but... He was mumbling more to himself, at this point. Tapping his pen once more, he looked over to Shimakage. He pauses.., before rubbing his face with his left hand.

🐧 --- Osatsu didn't really need to say anything more after their jab at the left side of the trial room-- it did its part by making them look like an asshole. It wasn't really what they were aiming for, but they'll take it. Though, as the discussion kind of went... well, in the direction of as expected, they couldn't help themself but to speak up. Of course, they were still playing around with the Krampsuke doll in their hands. A pause. As they mentioned it, they subconciously rub their own wrist. Those bracelets were... hm. They chuckle quietly to themself as they wiggle one of the Krampsuke doll's arms around. --- 🐧

Ootani's response doesn't really come as much of a surprise - the architect always had his head in the clouds both figuratively and literally, after all - but Shimakage dismisses it with a sigh. They're here to solve a murder, after all, and reprimanding someone who, evidently, has no interest in listening to him is a total waste of his time and breath. Shimakage's attention, however, quickly shifts away from the human palm tree and onto Osatsu, who...tries to make a case for solving Suzuki's murder. Which, you know, is completely pointless, since none of them had the honor of examining the body. There's also the fact that Suzuki was nothing to the conman, whereas Ishida... ...well, okay, Ishida was nothing, either, but he was at least fun to argue with!

"I agree with Osatsu-san, maybe we should take a bit of a look into Suzuki-san's case... after all it would not be fair to just leave one out for the other..."
Isayama had pipped up once Osatsu had finished speaking. She had went back to being silent all until Shimakage had spoken again- and immediately, there was a expression of shock and disdain at the conman's word for one of their late peers.
"Shimakage-san... What...? I-"
There was a frown.
"Suzuki-san's case matters just as much as Ishida-san's. We cannot ignore one peers death over the others. It would not be right- and even then- besides that."
"It does not suit well to speak Ill of the dead- Shimakage-san."

🐧 --- There's an airy laugh that comes from the comedian, with a usual smile on their face that seemed almost... well, a little off. While they didn't really care how much people talked to them, there was something about it that tickled them funny. They were concerned, for christ's sake-- if Suzuki was murdered and they were just letting it pass on by, then that's just concerning. Someone is out for blood and that isn't going to help with sleeping at night. They wiggle the other front paw of the Krampsuke doll in an idle mood. Another airy laugh. --- 🐧

Post by Marugou Madoka on Jan 29, 2018 17:00:18 GMT -5
Quite frankly, Madoka was still annoyed that they didn't get a chance to investigate Suzuki's body. How were they supposed to solve his case if they were denied so many informations regarding him? His cause of death, when he actually died, how in the world he even got up there to begin with... It was definitely fishy for Krampusuke to allow them to solve only one murder instead of two. Maybe, Suzuki's death could mean more than they might think...?
However, for now, it was better to push these theories back and instead, focus on the cases at hand. She sighed quietly, before piping up for the first time in their third trial:"Osatsu has the right idea; we should try our best to solve both cases. In case we have actually two murderers running around here, it would be good to know who they are. Though we should focus on Ishida's case more, simply because we have more intel there. However, don't forget that Suzuki must've died very recently as well, because the blood dripping down, as well as the blood pool, weren't dry at all yet."
The detective crossed her arms before her chest whilst she continued:"With Shimakage's statement about the whereabouts of some of us, I think it's fair to assume that those who have been observed the entire time couldn't have committed the crime; so that would include Komatsuzaki, Isayama, Shimakage and me. Utazawa is excluded merely because of the possibility that Ishida's murder could actually be as easy as it looks, but it's better to keep an open mind to other possibilities first. Not to mention that we should keep the message on Ishida's ID in mind - whoever did this wanted to supposedly spite all of us. Or well, at least those who attacked Ishida. Either way, sounds like as if our culprit wasn't too fond of us for one reason or the other - and I'm also curious about the 15 minute deadline he set upon Ishida. Actually, I'm really curious how they even opened the door to begin with..."
Madoka furrowed her eyebrows, musing about it while she didn't really stop talking - great:"However, I'm not too sure what else could've caused Ishida's death other than the bracelet... Unless the weird noise we heard before is somehow tied to the newly opened room and somehow energizes the handle. Actually, speaking of those awful noises, don't you think that the second one sounded a little bit different than the first one? This must mean something, but sadly, I didn't spot any differences anywhere", and at that point, she turned her head around to face their resident architect:"Ootani, you were in that room, right? Could you tell us what you exactly saw and what you did there?"

Shrugging in response to Shimakage, he returns to his previous pen tapping. While he really wanted to ignore the conman's words, he couldn't, not when they were in the beginning of the trial, at least. So he closes his eyes-- listening to everyone's words. Upon hearing the detective speaking to him, he opens his eyes. Plus, this was the room located behind the Vocalist lab... it was only logical. Whether they were like that in the first place or not was a mystery to Ootani. Considering his lack of experience with this room and it's equipment, it was safe to say that he wouldn't know if they were turned like that purposefully. He taps his pen, thinking.

At this point, it doesn't surprise Shimakage that his classmates aren't listening to him, but it causes his blood to boil nevertheless. Madoka is thorough, of course, and he can't exactly fault her for that. But it's Osatsu who disappoints him the most; the comedian had always struck him as one of the more intelligent members of the group (though, unfortunately, that wasn't saying much), and to hear them almost reprimand him for attempting to shift discussion to the more pressing case...well, it's frustrating, to say the least. He's so frustrated, in fact, that he raises his voice an octave and parrots Isayama's words back in a tone that's clearly intended to be mocking. And then, both his inflection and pitch return to normal, and he finds his gaze flickering over to Osatsu's podium. Slowly, he scans the courtroom, as though waiting for some type of reaction. Mostly, he focuses on Marugou, because as humiliating as it is to admit, there's part of him that's desperate to win her approval. It isn't that he has any interest in befriending her, necessarily, but the more pragmatic side of Shimakage knows that she holds the power to make his life a lot more difficult than it needs to be. After a few moments, he shoots Yanagi a wink, and continues on. A pause.

He didn't have much to add to the trial, which brought Yanagi to a frustrating pause- he hadn't investigated much, and didn't really understand the mechanics of the game- he instead stood quietly, twiddling his thumbs and mentally offering Shimakage and Madoka support. He did manage to nod quietly, though as the trial argued itself in circles, Yanagi's mind worked quietly- at least, until Shimakage dropped a bomb.
Suzuki-san was alive?
It made sense- it made sense because he had no time of death and no one could get to his body, so...
Yanagi's gaze flickers, insecurely, to Suzuki's podium, to the empty space there, and he wonders where he would be if not here- why would Krampusuke allow him not to attend the trial? Even the mastermind was here, presumably, so then why-... He chews his lip, quietly, rocking on his heels before clearing his throat, as if reminding the rest of the trial of his presence.
"Could it be- mm, maybe that Suzuki-san was the one who killed Ishida-san? Did we consider that? Perhaps, mm... Maybe he killed Suzuki-san, and got Utazawa-kun to attack him in the game- because, uh, clearly they're friends, right? And then... In order to avoid being punished, mm, faked his own death?"

Shimakage doesn't want to shoot down Yanagi's line of thinking, necessarily, but even so, he shakes his head slowly.
