The Eastern Lift is used to take you between the Central Area and the Eastern Area. On the ski lift used to ride between the two areas is the corpse of Tenshin Sakurako. It might be best if you try to take her down from the lift, so it's a little easier to investigate. At the moment, if you try to operate the lift, no matter what it will not budge.

It happened again.
As Madoka gazed upon the dead body on the lift - one that once belonged to Tenshin Sakurako, a girl whom she'd barely talked to -, she couldn't help but feel disappointed that someone succumbed to this motive. Granted, it wasn't surprising, as she'd already braced herself for this mutual killing game to continue, but... it was still disheartening to see that someone would believe what Krampusuke wrote on some notes and murder for it.
The detective was paying the newly deceased respect as she lowered her head and put a hand over her heart. She closed her eyes and muttered a simple phrase:"... Rest in peace, Tenshin", before opening them up again after a few more seconds. She shouldn't waste any time now - knowing how much ground they had to cover, their investigations must be swift and precise.
"... We should get her down from there, don't you agree?", she muttered quietly to those around her. "Would someone help me with that? I dunno if I alone should get her down... Not that strong, after all."

(Oh. So that's where she was.)
Is the first thought that appears in his head upon seeing the body of Tenshin Sakurako. He was looking for her earlier and she was here this whole time-- dead.
He lets out a scream before covering his mouth, trying to quiet himself before he made himself unable to investigate and thus, unable to help find the culprit who killed the maid. While it took a few minutes to calm himself down, which was just in time to hear Marugou's inquiry for help.
Inhale. Exhale. Chill.
He didn't particularly like touching a body per se...., but if it was to help anyone, then he's going to have to. He is the tallest after all. So he walks over to the lift and picks tenshin up-- careful not to mishandle the body just in case. Taking a look at her face, Ootani shakes his head. At least her eyes were closed.
(Rest in peace, Tenshin-san.)

In the end, it turned out to be Ootani, who... probably wasn't exactly thrilled to touch a body, but still offered himself for the task nonetheless. Madoka gave the taller boy a little smile and nodded, thanking him for his assistance:"Thanks, Ootani. Really appreciate that."
The detective was a bit surprised that he simply picked Tenshin up all by his own. Granted, it made sense for him to do so, but she still couldn't help but feel a little bit useless here. When he asked her where to put here, Madoka scanned the area shortly, before pointing to the ground a bit farther away from the lift.
"I think there would be good for now", she answered swiftly and then waited until he was done with whatever he'd decided to do. Either way, when he'd finally let go of the body in some way, Madoka would step to his side and... pat his head gently.
"Sorry to make you go through this. Thanks again, Ootani", Madoka said in a sincere voice, smiling softly at the architect. Kind of felt like as if a mother was reassuring her child that he did a good job.

He rubs the side of his neck, before smiling at the detective once she pat his head. She had to tip toe just to do so, which made him feel a bit bad.
Though first.., maybe he should wash his hands before he even considers trying to help investigate. He did just touch a body-- sure Tenshin had barely just died, apparently-- but he still touched a dead body. Rubbing his hands together, Ootani nods his head at Marugou.

All Madoka could think to herself is how much of a good boy Ootani was. Granted, that wasn't anything new, but just seeing him try his best to be helpful whilst feeling uncomfortable about the situation simply undermined that sentiment. Not to mention that he was considerate of her attempts of patting his head on her toes...
"No prob, maybe if I do that enough, I'll grow a few more inches", she responded earnestly. Hopefully, she didn't actually believe what she said or else, she was in for a bad surprise... Poor small Madoka.
When he declared to go wash his hands, Madoka just nodded understandingly. "Sure. I'll see you later. And take care, Ootani", were her final words to him, along with another small smile, before going into business mode. It was time to investigate the body...
Thus, Madoka bends down right next to the body and started to inspect the wounds on her head first. Where exactly were they positioned? Did they look alike? Or were their sizes and imprints different? What about the blood itself? Does some of it look older than the other? And how fresh is it?
When she's done inspecting the wounds on her head, Madoka will begin to inspect Sakurako for any other wounds that she might've received on her body. She'll also turn the body around, so she doesn't miss anything out. Actually, does she have any pockets with her? And if so, is there anything in them?

Upon inspecting the back of Tenshin's head, she finds two large bruises. One is relatively small whereas the second is much larger. They both appear to be fresh, rather than older wounds.
There doesn't appear to be any other wounds on Tenshin's body. In her pockets she only has her electronic student ID card. The ID card appears to be intact and still functioning, although there's nothing of relevance on it.

And he's back. It took a bit of a while-- more than he wanted to, at least-- but there was a reason for that. Aside from washing his hands, he needed to go grab a sketchbook from the Architect lab, along with his notepad; the notepad was a just in case thing, he probably didn't need any information from the last trial, though he felt he needed to be prepared. Plus, he couldn't really part from it. The sketchbook was going to be used for this trial's notes, since it was bigger. He holds the book close to him, looking at the lift itself before making his way over to the machine that operated said lift. Marugou looked like she was already taking care of the body, so he figured he might as well check this. Was there anything odd about it that made stuck? And even then, was the problem visible to the eyes, or did someone-- or something-- end up messing with the controls from the inside of the machine?

From somewhere off in the eastern direction, you can faintly hear the sound of someone yelling.

After looking around, Ootani notices a lever with the words "EMERGENCY BREAK" written above them. The lever appears to be forced into the active position, and a yellow ribbon is tied around it to keep it held in place. The ribbon appears to have some traces of blood on it, as well.

Oh-- that's--!!!
(Well that explains some things.)
He jots down a note about the ribbon before looking at Marugou.
However, he's not able to say what he wanted to say since he hears--
Finally taking off his jacket's right sleeve, he begins to untie the ribbon as quickly as possible. While he didn't want to mess with evidence, it felt like a bad idea, he was more worried about whoever was out there!

Once the ribbon is untied, Ootani is able to disengage the emergency break.
It is now possible to travel between the Central and Eastern Areas once again.
At the bottom of the mountain at the other Eastern Lift Station is Hirase, cold and happy that the lift is now operational.

Alright, so once again about the head wounds - are they similar in shape? Like, are both of them circular? Did one of those bruises leave a more deeper impression than the other? Moving on to other matters, is there something stuck in her nails? Or something on the soles of her shoes? Actually, are the shoes still wet or already dry from the snow?
Madoka looked up from the body when she heard someone yell from a distance - or at least, she thought she did. The detective looked around and saw how Ootani untied a ribbon from the brakes, before the lifts were operational again. She tilted her head, wondering already why their culprit had done this deed to begin with. Was it to incriminate everyone who was stuck at the other side? If there was anyone there, that is.
"... At least we can investigate every place now, huh? Good job, Ootani", Madoka said as she flashes the other boy a thumbs up. As she was done inspecting the body, she began to look at the lift itself - was ther anything stuck on it? Any kind of blood to be seen? Some hair or skin or whatever on the lift?

The two wounds are somewhat different shapes. The smaller one is more like an oval in shape. The larger one doesn't have a defined shape, but is much larger and takes up most of the back of the head.
There's nothing in her nails, and her shoes are fairly dry from the snow at this point.
The lift itself is pretty much spotless. There's a small drop of blood on it that ran down from the body while it was laying there, but that's about it.

Not much intel was gained from these inspections - it was still unclear what was used to kill Tenshin via Blunt Force Trauma. Then again... Madoka decided to check the snow field all around her - are there any imprints to be seen? Be it near the lift or where the lift would go. Especially something human-shaped with some blood on it?

After everyone rushed towards the Eastern lift, it's hard to make out which footprints are from people who just came from the Body Discovery Announcement and which might belong to the person involved with the murder. Despite this, there doesn't seem to be any traces of blood in the snow around the lift or outside of the station.

Albeit Madoka intended to ride the lift later, she'll join Ootano over to where the lifts were operated. There's only the machine here and nothing else, right? Any bloody handprints seen on it? Or anything else that looks off? Actually, are there other lifts aside from the one that Tenshin had been in? Tfw you have to ask this stuff, because you didn't investigate during normal days yet again...

There is a panel that can operate the lift and call it back and forth between the station at the Central Area and the Eastern Area. The panel itself doesn't have any traces of blood on it, or really any traces that it's been used in the last hour or so as the buttons are cold to the touch.
There are 5 lifts in the Central Area. One leads to the Eastern Area, one leads to a large ski slope, and the other three are currently nonoperational. However, there is both an upper Eastern Lift Station and a lower Eastern Lift Station, so that one may call the lift to travel between the two areas from either side.

If no one is on the eastern lift right now, Madoka would try to pull the emergency break down and see with how much force the lift is being stopped. Does it sway much? Actually, before she does it, are there even belts on the lifts that would secure you from being thrown out?
Otherwise, she'll take a glance at the yellow ribbon that Ootani has - any particular pattern to the blood on it? And is it unmistakably Tenshin's ribbon that she usually wore?

Upon pulling the emergency break down, the lift comes to a halt. It still sways ever so slightly in the breeze, but can no longer move along the track. Everyone investigating in the woods is now at the mercy of Marugou.
The seat of the lift doesn't have any safety belts on it, although just sitting in it should be relatively safe enough due to the angle of the seat.
The ribbon has some splotches of blood on it in some places. if you were to arrange it into a heart shaped bow just like Tenshin wore her yellow ribbon, then you'd notice that all the blood lines up at the center of the bow. It seems that this is definitely Tenshin's signature ribbon.
