As the idle chatter filled the room, a rumbling noise could be heard coming from the roof. In fact, there was a faint sound that resembled that of an argument. There were definitely the sound of two different voices coming from outside. Actually, it seemed as if the noise was coming from… The fireplace? Is Santa Claus coming...?Suddenly something came tumbling down the chimney followed by a faint screaming sound that grew louder and louder as it grew closer. Until a small, reindeer-like creature with angel wings and a halo smashed into the flames of the fireplace. Quickly, the creature leapt out of the fire, striking a pose in front of everyone. “Ahohoho, hello everyone!! Has everyone been getting along? Been on their best behaviour? Please forgive the- the chilly weather– but the cold can be pretty nice! Umm, umm... my entrance was pretty cool, wasn’t it?! I... am Santako! Deer mascot extraordinaire!!” However, unbeknownst to Santako, a small flame still burned against the back of his little plush deer body. One of the students, Utazawa, stepped forward to alert the creature that it was still on fire. “Holy shit, dude! You're on fire! ...Awesome." “Ahooooooooo!!!! Thank you so much for letting me know! A good student! On their best behaviour! Let us use this as an... a way to teach fire safety procedures! Stop! Drop! Roll!” The reindeer dropped to the floor and started to roll on the ground to distinguish the flames. After quite a decent amount of rolling on the ground, the reindeer finally jumped up, finally free of flames this time. With that, it spoke up again to try and explain itself. “Um– Hope you learnt all about fire safety procedures! Information! In this Christmas season, let us remember to stay safe when you hang out by the fire... but, Um– yes! Welcome to... The Ultimate Bonding Ski Lodge Game Show!!! Yes, yes– despite being talented students of Hope’s Peak, we recognize you have a need to socialize, and have fun... so we’ve brought you to something of an initiation game– Hohoho!!! Here, you’ll get to meet all your fellow students... this is all a super duper specialized game, reviewed by educational professionals... all about student control! New-age! Technology!” “⋅⋅⋅ᴬᶫˢᵒ, ᵘᵐᵐ⋅⋅⋅ ᵗʰᶦˢ ᶫᵒᵈᵍᵉ ʷᵃˢ ᵖʳᵉᵗᵗʸ ᵉˣᵖᵉᶰˢᶦᵛᵉ⋅⋅⋅ ᵍᵃᵐᵉ ˢʰᵒʷˢ ᵍᶦᵛᵉ ᵘˢ ᵐᵒᶰᵉʸ⋅ ᴵˢ ʷʰʸ ᵗʰᶦˢ ᶦˢ ᵇʳᵒᵃᵈᶜᵃˢᵗᵉᵈ⋅ ʸᵉˢ⋅” In the middle of their explanation suddenly the flames of the fireplace burst into a bright crimson, with embers flying all across the room. The shape of a demonic face appeared in the flames, giving a taunting face of pure malice. The blue haired girl, Hirase, cried out in surprise. From the flames rose a wolf-like creature, with similar plush features to Santako. Adorned with a flowing cape and a pitchfork, the pint sized wolf landed with grace in front of Santako and the whole cast. After quickly dusting off the ash from its cape it spoke in a deep, booming voice. Seemingly unphased by the creatures dramatic entrance, one of the students stepped forward to ask a question. It was none other than the Super High School Level Butler, Mukizu Gonkuro. "Krampusuke...? Like the creature who terrorizes children at Christmas?" A wide grin spread across Krampusuke’s face after hearing Mukizu’s question. With a swift flick of its stubby little arm, it launched the pitch fork it was holding up into the air allowing it to spin a few more times before leaping up into the air to snatch it back up. “Aaayup! That’s me! But y’know, Krampuses aren’t all evil. Fear is an important feature of humanity. You need fear to survive, to know what is and isn’t dangerous. Children especially tend to have a very peculiar lack of fear. They think they can get away with anything, that they’re on top of the world. But… They just need a friendly reminder that we’re always watching. We know the things you’ve done and we won’t let you get away with it… Ehehehehe…” The room filled with silence after Krampusuke finished his little monologue. Whether it was out of pure terror or bewilderment was unclear, but to break the silence the wolf cleared its throat and gestured towards the Christmas tree in the corner of the room. While nobody was looking, sixteen wrapped presents had appeared underneath the tree. Krampusuke spoke up again. “Aaanyway. About this whole TV show thing. We’re still a little busy setting stuff up. I was kind of hoping you guys would all just die of hypothermia out there so we wouldn’t have to keep working but eh, it happens. But for now I shall leave you with two gifts!” A loud clicking noise could be heard echoing throughout the foyer. “The first is that now all some of the doors in the building have been unlocked! You may now explore freely. Just don’t break anything, alright? Other than that, I left you all some nice presents. They all have you’re name on them so please don’t open someone else’s gift, okay? Anyway, buh-bye!” With that, Krampusuke vanished into a puff of smoke. Santako looked back at the kids a little worried and like he wanted to say something before also vanishing into a puff of smoke.

Beneath the Christmas tree were sixteen wrapped presents. If you were to tear into the wrapping you would find an electronic student ID card, about the same size and shape as a typical Smartphone. Booting it up would reveal your name and some personal stats about yourself, as well as a list of maps of the lodge. Resting underneath the ID card were three shiny, golden coins with Krampusuke’s face engraved on one side and Santako’s engraved on the other.

Post by Marugou Madoka on Nov 6, 2017 16:21:12 GMT -5
At some point, Madoka picked up two unfamiliar voices that sounded far too distant to belong to anyone currently present here. Given her position, it was relatively easy to figure out from where it came from; the fireplace. If it weren't for the flames, she would've definitely sneaked a peek into the chimney by now, but alas, the detective was smart enough to not stick her head dangerously close to a source of possible harm.
It wasn't even necessary at the end, given how something suddenly fell into said fire, making Madoka flinch in surprise. It was a good thing that she'd moved herself a little bit to the side prior (when the faint screaming grew louder and louder) or else, she'd have been in the middle of the way of whatever jumped out of the fireplace to... strike a pose.
Madoka blinked.
The brown-haired student looked at the reindeer-like creature that introduced itself as Santako - while still being on fire, no less. It was a rather bizzare situation, to say the least, but Madoka didn't miss a beat in paying attention to what was being said. Nevertheless, a part of her simply couldn't stop staring at the tiny flames that were slowly consuming the mascot's fur. As she opened her mouth to warn it from looming danger, Utazawa beat her to the punch and next thing she knew, she was suddenly observing a practice of fire safety procedures.
When that was done and over with, they were told that this was apparently a TV Game Show. Madoka lowered her eyes lightly in suspicion, not entirely convinced that this was truly the case. A certain amount of skepticism was healthy and something about this entire ordeal just seemed fishy. For starters, if they really were in a Game Show, wouldn't they remember consenting to such a thing? And even if it were families or friends that signed them up to it, then-- No, it still wouldn't make sense. The detective merely had to take herself as an example to prove that either case wasn't likely.
As if their situation wasn't strange enough, yet another creature came through the chimney and introduced itself as Krampusuke (Madoka couldn't help but find that name to be incredibly silly). First a reindeer, now a wolf with a pitchfork and... was that a bellybutton? Why?
"... Strange."
That's all she had to say about their newcomer's appearances. However, that wasn't as important as what intel they had to give - a heavy emphasis on fear and that this entire set-up wasn't quite finished yet. When Krampusuke gestured towards the christmas tree, Madoka's eyes followed suit, slightly widening in surprise when she suddenly saw all these presents underneath it. When and how did they get there? It could've hardly been these mascots-- no, actually, Krampusuke could've done it while their attention was kept on Santako. Still, it had been only mere minutes at most and who knew where this chimney actually led to... So other people doing background work did sound more plausible in hindsight.
Then again, those two quirky animal... plushies... whatever were capable of simply going poof, like in a cartoon. This must be probably some kind of magic trick, magicians around the world do that all the time. Therefore, Madoka decided to take the initiative after concluding that mulling over that particular detail wouldn't do her any good and go open up her own present. First, there was a smartphone with some data on her own person - as well as the maps for this place.
(Wherever this was. Actually, how would any of these doors suddenly lead to other rooms or hallways? She hardly remembered how she got here, but it didn't seem like as if she'd been running in zigzag, just straight ahead...)
Madoka quickly focused her mind on the present, now taking the three coins that had been hidden underneath her newly acquired device. Although the purpose of these coins wasn't quite clear to her yet, it would be downright stupid to leave them inside her box. It's not like as if they even weigh a ton, so there was no harm in carrying it with her. Afterwards, Madoka stood up and looked at the overall directions of where her peers were.
"So, that's that. Might as well look around and see what we can find. Later", and with that short comment from her side, Madoka waved at her fellow human companions, before leaving the lodge behind her, ready to explore what could be explored...
It was time to let her detective side shine.

🐧 --- There were a lot of things that Osatsu was thinking about, with most of them being questions that they probably wouldn't get anytime soon. Interrupting their talk with Ootani, the sight of someone-- sorry, some thing tumbling down the chimney and catching on fire was enough for them to smirk at. As this whole charade continued, they let that smirk dissolve into their usual neutral smile that they kept on their face, feeling less amused by the situation as it settled in their mind. Folding their arms across their chest, they tilted their head to the side as they continued to listen-- with a forming on their face when the devil showed up. Krampusuke, was it? Interesting. Their attention wandered a bit after the second mascot's appearance, but the word "broadcasted", as difficult it was for them to hear, instantly caught their full, undivided attention. This entire thing... was televised? For people to see? Suspicious. Everything about this felt horribly suspicious. If this was some broadcasted gameshow, then letting the participants practically crawl their way to safety from the cold is poor taste. But those were paranoid thoughts fit for when they were alone, not while they were surrounded by people that they vaguely only knew. Some of which they had no fucking idea who they were. When the mascots finally left, Osatsu gave out a silent sigh of relief before muttering to no one in particular. That was all that they wanted to mutter to themself before they remembered where they were. Oh right, midway through talking to Ootani-- well, they could start up another one later. Sending Ootani a wave of their hand, they silently slithered over to the Christmas tree to take their present, and slithered on out with it. --- 🐧

This... Can't be real.
The first, immediate thought Yanagi had upon seeing a small... Toy fall out of the fireplace, burst into flames, and then proceed to make a scene, was that this situation, this nightmare, could not possibly be real. The reindeer, the toy, whatever it was-- It was a bit dramatic, a bit over the top, and a bit of an understatement. For a few moments, his eyebrows furrowed into a dark, deep frown. Was it ethical, really, to kidnap a group of teenagers under the guise of a initiation game. That seemed...
Dangerous.
At best.
While the boy was a heartbeat away from asking the toy how he could be there if he wasn't an attendee of Hope's Peak-- or, how he found himself with amnesia while everyone else seemed relatively fine, he was quickly interrupted by another event by the fireplace, which seemed to culminate in another cute... Demon appearing out of the flames, twirling a... Trident, and giving gifts. Quietly, even through the confusion, Yanagi's gaze lifted to the corners of the room, scanning for cameras or something else to signify that this was actually a television show... But he couldn't seem to.
Eventually, Yanagi allowed himself to wander over to the Christmas tree, picking up the package addressed to him. While he pocketed the coins without a second thought, the small device caught more of his attention, as, when he turned it on, it seemed to have... Information about him.
(His birthday.)
And while it wasn't much of a clue to his identity, it still was one, so, with a small smile, Yanagi held the device to his chest before briskly walking out of the room, hoping that, really, no one noticed that little slip of character.
(Yanagi knows his birthday.)

Post by Isayama Yaya on Nov 6, 2017 19:14:52 GMT -5
Her hand had reached to her mouth and a shocked gasp had let out once she saw the cute reindeer plush fall down the chimney, and caught on fire.
Why would anyone try to throw away a cute stuffed animal like that? Was her first thought, but as the toy had started to speak; Yaya had gained another thought.
How... strange.
Her curiosity had died a bit when she had seen the fire on the plush continuously burning.
This- this was not good- not at all. If something were not to be done- the fire would quickly burn and spread then-
Her eyes had shifted from side to side, checking for any source of material or tool to help put out the fire. Her worry been obvious as her face shown an extreme amount of anxiety and fear.
There must be something- Oh.
That was when Utazawa had pointed out the flames to the talking toy, and in response; the stuffed animal put out the burning lights. As the reindeer rolled, Yaya could not help but release a sigh of relief, but still had held a expression of doubt mixed with hesitating nerves.
She had taken a deep breath, and sighed once more as she had collected herself, back to a peaceful calm stance. The shrine maiden had kept silent as she had watched the reindeer continue to speak, and remained silent as the wolf-like toy soon entered the room, joining with the other plush.
How curious- how very strange it all was- and as quickly it happened- it ended too as the two toys dismissed the group of students.
Questions had lingered inside the girl's mind, so, so, very many.
However, she would wait for a better time to ask about such curiosities. Time to explore been ahead of her, and she would make the most out of it. With a friendly smile- she had spoken to her peers one last time before eventually leaving; with an student ID in toe.
She had politely bowed and slowly walked out the room.
She hoped to find at least a few answers as time passed.

It had been rather idle since their introductions to one another, creating a rather unsettling atmosphere to say the least with their circumstances before her head turned to hear a voice she didn't recognize-- along with the crash down from the chimney. Eyes widened at the scene, unsure what to make of the scene in front of her. A reindeer plush falling from seemingly nowhere...? It almost seemed like something that came straight out of a manga if she were being honest with herself... maybe some would think it was cute-- but the creature introduced as Santako was more unnerving than anything else.
Catching her attention that the deer was only on fire after her peers had pointed it out, she gave a small wince at the sight-- even if she thought the stuffed animal like toy was incredibly unnerving and creepy, she did feel bad for it, with almost exaggerated expressions and tones... if this was some prank, it was rather elaborate at that. It still didn't explain why they were here in this lodge after all.
She had not much time to speak before getting more details on their situation, listening with intent-- after all, there wasn't much anyone could do but listen to what it had to say... Her brow furrowing to hear that this was a game show... With little recollection of anything prior, she didn't ever remember agreeing to such, though there was probably little to argue about at this point, since the doors were locked anyway... might as well make the best out of the situation like always... the daily grind and all.
Before she thought she had gotten a handle on the situation, another plush like mascot character appeared-- more of a wolf like figure this time, almost startling her. Continuing to stay silent through his speech, uncomfortable with the idea of speaking up, especially with such a contrast to Santako, it made her a little uneasy to say the least. At least what Krampsuke had said was true-- seeing presents under the Christmas tree that were seemingly absent before... Komatsuzaki was far from being a detective, but the situation continued to rub her the wrong way as she watched Santako and Krampsuke disappear before their eyes, before she could say a word.
"Well... That was a rather dynamic entrance..."
Opening her present to see her Student ID, she wondered how in the world they had even gotten this information... but going against the flow of things was too time consuming, after all-- there was quite a lot of room judging from the Map on her ID... The library and lounge stuck out the most, being comfortable quiet places she could sketch ideas for a new series, she was also curious what type of food they had...
"...I'm still not really sure what to make of this situation, but I guess I'll be around"

(......Cute.)
Was the first thought that ran through Ootani's head upon seeing the dressed up deer...plushie. Aside from catching its name-- Santako-- he didn't seem to really be paying attention to what it was saying. At least, until Utazawa had mentioned the fire-- which prompted a lesson in fire safety procedures. It was a confusing turn of events, but even if he was actually paying attention, he felt that there was a very likely chance he'd still be baffled.
Thankfully, Santako had begun to explain the reason they were all in this lodge for. ...Which only left him with more questions than answers, really. Taking a look around at the other students and upon noticing he wasn't one of the only ones to be confused, Ootani let out a small sigh of relief--- that immediately transformed into a small gasp upon seeing Krampusuke.
(CUTE!)
Covering his mouth with his left hand, Ootani listened to the wolf's monologue, trying his best to keep his mind from wandering-- it was a bit difficult, especially during the moment of silence. So it was a blessing when everyone's attention was redirected to the Christmas tree.
After the mascots finished their explanations and left, he noticed Osatsu waving before grabbing their present. He returned the wave just as they slithered out of the foyer, making his way to his own present to grab it and leave.
