As the screen displaying Hirase Marin's execution on it, just as it had for the previous execution, faded it displayed something new. Although, everyone already had a good idea about what was going to show up on it. VIEWING AUDIENCE POLL RESULTS
Most Likely to be the Victim: Hirase Marin (13.9.4%) Most Likely to be the Culprit: Utazawa Fumio (24.3%) Best Husbando: Shimakage Seitaro (27.6%) ... After a brief period of silence, Krampusuke spoke up again. With that, Krampusuke hopped up the spiral staircase leading back to the roof. You figured he was probably going to start the sleigh up again to head back to the lodge. Although you weren't sure if you could even process all that happened, you knew that you had to get going soon.

Post by Marugou Madoka on Jan 10, 2018 16:02:22 GMT -5
With a grim look on her face, Madoka placed her eyes firmly on the screen, so she could witness Hirase's last moments. This trial certainly left a bitter taste in her mouth - not that the previous one didn't do so as well, but it was different kind of bitter. It just seemed so unfair to send the lifeguard to her death when it had been a complete accident; when she'd only defended herself from a panicked Tenshin. Meanwhile, the bigger threat would be still around and she could already imagine how much tenser the atmosphere would be after this 'chapter' was over.
[TW: Water Mention]
All these thoughts aside, Madoka gritted her teeth when she saw how Krampusuke played with Hirase, firing her across the fields, before she landed in ice-cold water. With her light get-up, it would be only a matter of time before-- actually, it was probably more likely for her to be teared into shreds by these mechanized sharks. Although the temptation to look away grew, Madoka stood her ground and didn't waver - though she did let out a relieved sigh when these sharks failed to hit her.
[TW END: Water Mention]
However, her first worry had been right on the money - it was impossible to survive that long in such cold conditions if you weren't equipped for it. Thus, Hirase died just like that - being snowed in, as if the world itself wanted to erase her existence from this planet. It was... a disheartening thought.
Hearing Krampusuke's voice just made her eyes roll and she couldn't bite back the following comment:"Shut up, nobody cares what you're saying anyway. Gosh, you're so annoying, you stupid gremlin..."
As there wasn't much else to do, Madoka aboarded the sleigh and when they arrived at the lodge, she headed straight to the newly unlocked area - it was time to dive into investigations again that didn't involve murders and dead bodies (and to keep her thoughts from straying too far).

That was.....
That was....
Tiring? Loud? Absolutely despairing?
It was around the end of the trial that he started to cry out of frustration-- there was a fight starting and they were already going around in circles. He didn't stop it, it was better to let it cry than bottle it up, especially in a situation like this.
However.., once it was revealed that it was Hirase that had killed the waitress, his face lost all color. Ootani looked at her-- eyes wide and tears still running down his face. There was only silence coming from him, but if you looked at his face you could just see he was silently asking her why. Why did you kill her, when she was just in a panic?
There wasn't enough time for him to speak up-- even if he did want to. For it was time for the execution!
But unlike the last one, he looked away-- he didn't want to watch this.
And then it was over. Just like that.
Ootani followed Krampusuke over to the sleigh, a bit out of it.
It was time to go back.

🐧 --- The finale of the trial had nothing for Osatsu to really note on. Aside from a joke that they whisper under their breath, they had nothing to really say about everything. What good would it do to cry over something that they can't change? Sure, they weren't all that much of a logical person, but... well, they just didn't understand the point of crying. It's expression of emotions, but why would anyone want to show what they're actually feeling to other people? Yet, as they observed Ootani from where they stood, their usual arguments seemed to fade off into the back of their mind as background noise. (...What gave them the right to judge if someone needed to express their own emotions?) The execution seemed to go by in the blink of an eye, and just with everyone else, they started to head out of the trial room-- though, really, they seemed to be trying to approach someone who was leaving. They called out, as they quicken their pace to catch up to the architect with an outstretched hand. Grabbing the hem of Ootani's sweater, they looked up at him with a slight pout on their face. Although harsh, their words didn't have that sharp edge that would have been expected from anyone, really. They seemed to be fine all together-- as they let out a chuckle while unknotting the cloth that was tied around their arm with a hand, before proceeding to hold it out to the architect. You could be... a little nicer, Osatsu. --- 🐧

Takane was silent as he watched the gruesome execution happen, and he felt a slight lump in his throat. That could have been him, and certainly a majority of the people here would have liked it to be him. It was too late for regrets, and he had certainly gone too far to express anything close to an apology—it wouldn't have been accepted anyways. He would have to watch his back for the rest of his time staying at this lodge, and deal with a large amount of disdain. He would take it all, though. He was an Ishida.
He crouched down to pick up the shoe that was tossed his way during the trial, and made the journey to Yanagi's podium. With a neutral expression and not a word, Takane put the shoe on top of the other's podium and set off for the sleigh. There was nothing for him to say. He wasn't sure what he was going to do next, but he wanted to be out of this room full of people.

If he were to be honest right now, he assumed that no one would stop him-- figuring they would all be used to his crying. But, he sure was wrong!
He looks back at Osatsu once they started speaking, blinking a bit in surprise. There wasn't much he could catch, aside from something about carrying around a handkerchief before he realized they were handing him their handkerchief.
At least they weren't using a sharp tone with him, which he was thankful for-- however he was still shocked they would offer up their handkerchief once again after a trial.
You know, he was this close to responding with a negative remark, but...
( That's just a little too defeatist and negative even for me, Ootani-san. Liven up. )
Well, let's just say the comedian's previous words shut him up.
Taking the handkerchief, he smiles at them before cleaning his face with the cloth.

🐧 --- After Ootani takes the handkerchief from them, they give him a satisfied nod of their head.
"Give me it back later when you're done with it."
With that, they walked right past Ootani and to the sleigh without another word. --- 🐧
