Krampusuke jumped up onto the ledge of the roof, waving his stubby arms and the pitchfork in his hand frantically. Again, a wicked grin spread across the plush wolf’s face. With that, Krampusuke disappeared in a puff of smoke once again, leaving everyone with nothing but the knowledge of the cruel game they were being forced to play. Not only were they trapped in a game of murder and deceit, but also a game that would be televised out to the rest of the world. And to make things worse, one among them was a traitor. The sound of sixteen small buzzing noises filled the air of the now cold and silent rooftop. As everyone checked their pockets, they found out that their electronic Student ID cards had gotten an update. Now a new application entitled “Rules” could be accessed. Additionally, another notification alerted them that the SHSL Ballerina Research Lab, SHSL Butler Research Lab, and SHSL Architect Research Lab had all been unlocked.

Post by Shimakage Seitaro on Nov 18, 2017 18:35:10 GMT -5
Murder, Shimakage had come to realize, was something that he lacked a moral opposition to. In this instance, at the very least, it seemed to be inevitable; either the mastermind would die, or the rest of them would. Intellectually, he supposed that the rest of them were feeling some semblance of panic over the prospect of losing their lives, but Shimakage had been prepared to spend his in confinement. At the end of the day, being murdered wasn't too far removed from rotting in a room somewhere, so when Krampuske announced the onset of the first murder game, Shimakage's reaction was...unconventional.

Post by Ishida Takane on Nov 18, 2017 23:47:39 GMT -5
Takane felt rigid. He was doing his best to process everything in the moment, but found it a bit harder than usual. He prided himself on his comprehension, but this new world felt foreign to the life he had known such a little time ago. He did the only thing he could to calm himself: focus on the facts. With that in mind, he did his best to mentally run through all of the pertinent information. - The entire class was trapped between a range of snowy mountains, unable to escape.
- Hope's Peak had put them here.
- The purpose of their stranding was to be the subjects of a 'Mutual Killing Game' with everyones' lives on the line. This event was planned to be televised.
- The only way to escape was to successfully commit an anonymous murder, or somehow discern the identity of the person that had brought them here, and kill them.
- Someone on this rooftop was responsible for this.
After going through that list, and then going through it again, Takane found himself able to breathe. He looked all around at the faces of the rest of his classmates, some fragment of himself hoping that someone might be wearing an expression that would give them away as knowing more than everyone else. He chided himself for such a childish wish, and quietly clenched his fists. The feeling of pain further brought Takane back to neutral, though he still wasn't completely fine. He thought it might be good to say something. He was an Ishida, damn it all, he would take charge and lead them through this. Use the tools at his disposal—detective most definitely included—to uncover the truth. He took a deep breath, and spoke with a confidence afforded only to those who were highly gifted and those who were lying to themselves.
"Alright then. Our goal is clear: We find this traitor among us, and deliver swift justice. We're all still virtually strangers to each other, but there is no reason we cannot accomplish this goal set out before us. We're the world's best and brightest. Whichever of us is responsible for Hope's Peak's First Mutual Killing, we'll end them. Beyond that, we'll make sure that this first mutual killing is also the last. Do any of you take issue with this?"

Post by Yanagi Tsuneo on Nov 19, 2017 0:20:01 GMT -5
While Yanagi didn't know many things, he figured that no, most high schools didn't force the students to kill one another. His eyebrows twitched into a confused frown, and while he wanted to question their scenario, he worried that it wouldn't be enough. What could he, an alarmingly average high-schooler, do in the face of the threat of murder? In a hostage situation? He was overwhelmed, and peered anxiously through the crowd of people until sliding to Shimakage's side with a quiet, solemn nod of greeting. He wanted to say something, but his I.D. card was vibrating in his pocket, and he frowned at the rules.
He blinked, slowly, at the screen, before a dark sense of foreboding settled into his stomach--what did it mean, everyone else shall be punished? With the exception of Madoka-san, no one else seemed to be able to have the ability to even investigate, properly. Chewing his lip, tapping his fingers, Yanagi allowed the gears of his mind to set into motion, thinking about any possibility of what a group punishment was. Perhaps they would be wounded? Mercifully, however, he was pulled out of his thoughts by Shimakage speaking, and Yanagi quirked an eyebrow, curiously.
"What's interesting about it, Shimakage-san?"
However, Shimakage continued to speak, dramatic and pull of purpose, and Yanagi found himself fascinated by the cadence of his words. He was charismatic, he was pointed, and Yanagi squinted--by this point, he was sure that Shimakage wasn't who he seemed, but he still felt himself drawn to his presence.
"Er... I don't think I can fight anyone. I'm kind of... Skinny, aren't fighters like, strong? Also, ah... How do you recommend we find this 'mastermind'? The only one with any investigative abilities, at least, as far as I can tell, is Madoka-san, no? She can't do it alone, I don't think."

Post by Mukizu Gonkuro on Nov 19, 2017 14:58:55 GMT -5
—— The sunrise unveiled a scary truth. In the midst of ice, the beacon of warmth illuminated reality for the pack of students now standing idly, dumbly even, amongst one another on that vacant rooftop. The butler stayed quiet, allowing the information being given first before he even thought of saying anything. It's important for everyone to have everything they absolutely can take from an informant after all or else risk something valuable.
Knowledge was power, so they say.
Mukizu was utterly lost in his own thoughts when the other students had already begun discussing the situation they were thrust into. The pensive expression upon the blond's face fell, wiped in favor of one of slight surprise, slight recognition and he focused his attention again on his peers instead.
"Whilst I agree that it is unwise to place all the burden on Marugou-sama, there are ways to find tanukis without relying on professional investigative skills."
If there was a more helpful statement he was thinking, it was clear he had no intention of being blunt about it.
"Pardon me, but there are previously locked rooms available to us all. There is still one room locked however for us... Perhaps the truth lies in there.
"Regardless, the rules state we are in a 'Post-Arctic Research Facility'... I would like to investigate the research labs as a result. They very well may be important in purpose."

This wasn't good.
While the research labs-- aside from one-- have been opened, the news of this 'murder game' unsettled Ootani.
At the very least, while he couldn't exactly say much due to his surprise, he was able to listen to the discussion of the other students. Lightly scratching his cheek, he looked over to the four who were talking, nodding once Mukizu had suggested they investigate the research labs.
"I think that's a swell idea, since I do admit, I am curious as to what's in the lab for me..."
Looking at the golfer, he tapped his cheek, "Would it even be easy to find the mastermind? Not that I'm taking much issue, but I don't think we could 'deliver swift justice', if we don't have any inkling of who they are..."

It was nothing less than a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach, feeling the acid churn around at the sound of a killing game... she didn't even remember agreeing to this thing-- and now they were being asked to murder each other. As far as she knew, this was only stuff that happened in movies and fiction... there was no way that this could be real. It's... not like they'd kill each other over such? Biting her lip as tension seemed to cloud the air, at least for her.
"You've got to be joking..."
Speaking softly under her breath, not intending for anyone to hear her mumbling... it wasn't like she really knew any of these people-- though she didn't think it would be incredibly wise to just lock herself up and give a sharp tongue to everyone. If anything, she'd have to be on guard as she glanced at the people around her once more. As much as she didn't like the situation at all, it really didn't seem any of them had a choice...

There was no way anyone could have predicted this turn of events. Well, that wasn't quite true. Several people had been on edge since their mysterious arrival, all for valid reasons. But to Nadeshiko, it was unthinkable; and so, no one could have predicted it.
As Krampusuke took his leave, she could hear her heartbeat echoing loudly in her ears. Fear and adrenaline were taking over. The only way to fight it was to stay calm, to keep a straight face... but as she read over the notification that'd popped up on her ID card, Nadeshiko's cheeks and fingertips were already starting to look flushed.
Something caught in her throat, drawing a quick cough before she continued.
Divided we fall... might not have been the best phrase for this situation, there was a very real risk of falling united too. But thinking that was no good! After all, a negative attitude would only bring more negativity. (Not that she was thinking that because of anyone in particular.)
