This was his first time ever actually being in his research lab.
He was so absorbed in talking with others and spacing out that he completely forgot it existed. That was, until the investigation from yesterday reminded him that the research labs existed.
It looked like he was right at home, laying on a beanbag chair while doodling. While there were actual chairs-- and a table for that matter-- he's never sat on a beanbag chair before, so he decided to give the bag a try, If he didn't feel comfortable on it, then the other chairs were always right there. But it's been an hour, and he's yet to get off the beanbag chair.
However, if one were to look at the table that he was laying next to, they would see that he was indeed using it to hold a few things. Like snacks, a handheld camera, and a cup of good ol' hot coco.
"Hmmm...," Tapping a pencil on chin, he looks down at the sketchbook on his lap-- not even noticing that someone had just entered the room. After a few moments of silence between the two of them, he finally looks up once he grabs his cup of hot coco.
"....Oh! Hello, Marugou-san," Taking a sip, he looks at the nearby beanbag chair and gestures towards it. "Wanna hang out?"

Although Madoka came here a few times, she never lingered around for too much. It's not like as if she disliked the room - she merely prefered other locations more. Still, it didn't hurt to check the place again, just in case something changed from the last time she inspected it. Who knew when sudden new secret rooms would reveal themselves to them? You could never be too careful in situations such as these...
However, fate seemed to have different plans for her - when she entered the architect room, the spiritual owner of said place was to be found within its parameters as well, seemingly sketching something. Madoka couldn't help but immediately recall how he was one of the few that outright cried after the trial.
(She was actually surprised that not many had joined him there.)
"Hi", Madoka greeted the taller boy, before letting her gaze sway to the gestured beanbag chair. Her decision was made swiftly - she could investigate this place at any given point, but the opportunity to socialize with Ootani right at this moment wouldn't come again. Thus, the detective nodded and strolled to the chair, before flopping down on it unceremonically.
"... It's comfy", she noted, letting herself relax for a little.

Ootani nods, taking another sip of coco.
"Right? I didn't think they would be so comfy, if i'm to be honest here." He answers with a chuckle, settling back into the beanbag after placing the cup down. Once he's settled in, he continues working on his sketch.
It's after a few minutes of silent sketching, does he start talking again.
"So, did you need anything from here?" A pause. "Or were you going to investigate this room as well?"

Madoka nodded when Ootani admits to his lack of knowledge about the beanbags, but doesn't offer any words herself. Sometimes, it simply wasn't needed to reply when all you'd do was to reconfirm something that didn't need any reconfirmation to begin with. Instead, she sunk more into her new seating accommodation, enjoying the peaceful silence between the two of them. Ootani was someone whom it was easy to spend time with without constantly having to talk. Madoka definitely appreciated that about him, more than he might think.
When he broke the silence inbetween them, Madoka opened her eyes that she'd closed a two minutes ago, turning her head almost lazily to the side - seems like someone got incredibly comfy there. "Hm? Oh, right. Just wanted to see if something changed while we were in that trial room. Buuuuut it's not a pressing matter and... I'm really comfy right now. I think this might be a good place to take naps in the future", she responded languidly.
"... Soooo, what are you sketching?"
