Spending time with Komasuzaki was fun, for a little bit, and Yanagi found himself to be surprisingly fond of the girl. It was sick to say, perhaps, but he enjoyed spending time here, with his fellow teenagers. Sure, there was the overwhelming, looming threat of murder, but none of these kids seemed capable. They were simply too... Normal.
Everything was. This was his new normal, and Yanagi was fine with it. He still didn't know his family, his friends, or who he was, but he knew he liked living here, at least a little bit.
At least, until they heard a scream, and Yanagi sent a panicked gaze upward, before staring at Komatsuzaki with wide eyes. There's a silent agreement, a silent nod of understanding before they scramble out of the room, quickly making their way to head upstairs, though Yanagi is almost barreled down by a flash of blue, caterwauling wildly. Yanagi stares, stunned, as he watches Osatsu run down the hallway to the kitchen, and he has half a mind to follow them, to turn the tables and question them until they're uncomfortable, but one look at Komatsuzaki reminds him of a more pressing issue, and he quickly ushers her up the stairs. It's when they reach the top that he notices a trail of blood, staining the floor in tiny, imperfect droplets, and his stomach bottoms out. It leads in two directions: to the gift shop, and the research lab corresponding to the Butler- Mukizu.
Before even getting Komatsuzaki's confirmation, Yanagi grits his teeth, snapping out a near command as he nearly sprints to the research lab. "Check the gift shop. Meet me back here if you don't find anything," he snaps, feet pounding a percussive beat on the floor while he runs to the door of the research lab, slamming the door open with enough force to slam against the wall-
- and he's greeted by an empty room. No one's here, and the foreboding sense of dread settles in his gut when he makes a small cry for his companion, yelling for Komatsuzaki, hoping that she'll appear at the doorway and ask what he found. But she doesn't, so he turns on his heel and runs- it's not a far distance, but it feels miles away, feels like he'll never reach the door, which remains propped open, a small figure silhouetted in the light. As soon as he can peer over her shoulder, Yanagi shoves his way in front of her, as though trying to block her view from the room, trying to shield her from the interior.

"Holy shit. Holy shit."
