Madoka duly noted that she'd done quite a bit of walking today.
It made sense, given that she gave each and every room a thorough inspection. The detective was glad that she decided to leave both the lounge and her own room for last, so she could retire without delay once her investigation was completed. It's been a long day, after all.
All in all, there wasn't much of interest found inside the lounge which - again - wasn't too surprising, all in all. However, what she did find out was how comfy these couches actually were. In fact, they were so comfortable that Madoka decided to rest there for a little bit. Or at least, that's what she's planned to do, but... the mere idea of standing up anytime soon just sounded too much of a bother.
Thus, Madoka simply sat on one of the couches, leaning back as she stared at the ceiling, lost in her own thoughts. If it weren't for the footsteps that came closer, she might've gone through all of her findings (or lack thereof) again, but alas, her attention was drawn to the source of these new sounds.
Ootani Yakumo. An architect, if she remembered correctly. Madoka wondered if he was the architect she'd heard about...
(Well, might as well find out.)
The smaller girl gave the her classmate a wave, opening her mouth to say:"Hi there. Wanna relax here with me for a bit?"

The bad thing about being in new, unknown places, is having to walk around in order to find out any information that could be useful.
The good thing about this, however, is the chance of learning about a new building and figuring how the creator decided how a lodge like this could work.
And that was exactly what Ootani was doing now that his mind was focused and ready to rumble! He was about to enter the lounge to study it and get a good look at it....
However, upon entering the area, someone noticed him, asking him if he wanted to relax.
He should just decline-- but, one look at the couches had him sold.
And there he goes, already making his way to the couch of procrastination.

Although inviting almost strangers to chill with her wasn't usual for her, Madoka decided that now was the perfect time to mix it up a bit. After all, she already spent a moderate amount of time alone - thanks to her investigation efforts - and if they were to live here for god-knows long, might as well get acquainted with her fellow peers. It would've eventually happened anyway (especially if they were in Hope's Peak instead of here) and as there was barely anything else to do, she took her chances.
Now, she merely needed to figure out how to start a decent conversation. There wasn't much to say about the lounge aside from the comfy couches and it would be kind of pointless to do so if Ootani would experience it for himself any moment now. So... probably something about himself, right? Well, if she'd go into that direction, might as well ask him something that she's been wondering for a while now.
Madoka leaned a little bit forward, both hands on the couch as she asked:"Actually, I'm kinda curious about one thing, Ootani. Was it you who designed those major landmarks across the country? I heard that someone fairly young did that, so I was wondering..."

On a comfy couch, and already being asked questions about himself, Ootani was already in his element. Leaning back into the couch, he smiled at the detective.
Crossing his legs, he nodded.

So it was him. Well, it would've actually surprised her if he wasn't the young architect who designed those major landmarks to begin with - after all, those were certainly worthy of granting someone the title of Super High School Level Architect.
Now that she had the chance, she could definitely ask him some questions - though where to start? Her knowledge mostly came from the news, so she wouldn't be able to ask really specific questions or anything. Probably ask the same questions that others have done beforehand - but oh well, what can she do?
At last, she settled down for one inquiry:"Sooo, from where did you get your inspiration for those designs? Always hear that artists get their ideas in the strangest places and moments... Is it the same case for you?"

Well, this question was expected.
Placing his left hand on his chin, Ootani closed his eyes. Of course it was the same case for him, if anything, he figured it would be strange for an artist to not have any inspiration for their ideas.

Short and precise answers were definitely something that Madoka greatly appreciated. In her line of work, she'd meet all kinds of people and among them were those who just never came to the point - you know, the ones where you practically had to pull a teeth for a simple 'yes' or 'no'. These were the types of human beings that were tiresome to deal with - however, luck seemed to be on her side in this instance and she was definitely grateful for that.
The detective nodded at his inquiry, following up with a simple:"Yup." A few moments later, she also added:"Do you live in Tokyo, then? I mean, if you've been inspired by the Roppongi Hills ever since you were a little kid... Unless you happened to saw a documentary on it. Or well, have been on vacation there."

"I live in Tokyo now, but as a kid, i was taken there on vacation."
With a bit of a chuckle, Ootani looked at the detective, "Though, I did end up watching some documentaries afterwards."
