—— "Darn it-! I reckon this room's gon' get on my last nerve..."
The butler cursed a little under his breath as he found himself in the foyer again and in front of the mysterious locked room to the east. There were plenty of locked rooms in the lodge to be found, but this one provided little clue as to what it was on the maps given to them via ID cards.
Of course, of all doors to remain locked from the ones he had tested earlier, it had to be this one.
He heaved a sigh only to hear the creak of one of the other doors. This sound, the sound that meant someone was going to be joining him, forced him to regain his composure and he stood upright again.
( Ahem-- )
"Pardon my selfish request, but might you try opening this door for me?"

He was only coming in to drink some hot cocoa and relax in the foyer, he didn't exactly think there would be anyone in the area.
And he certainly didn't expect any requests. Oh well.
With a nod, he placed his cup of hot coco down and made his way to the door. He tried opening it with his left hand.
Tug, tug, tug. ..No dice.
With a slight frown, he took off his sweater's right sleeve, then began opening the door with both hands this time. Tug, one, two-- it didn't open, not even a budge! Looking at the doorknob, Ootani's frown returned with full force, what a rude door.

—— How convenient for him to be getting Ootani Yakumo out of all the possible students to be walking in and helping him out. To also be on the opposite end of requests and still have the other person be so compliant was... rather refreshing, actually! A smile graced the butler's features in response even with the struggle that soon befell the architect.
Whilst the other attempted to force it open, Mukizu had taken the opportunity to move out of the way and then later pick up the cup so that he may gingerly hold it out and offer it back to his benefactor of the hour.
"Please do not fret over this. Here's your drink back again by the way."
He glances back to the locked door with a feeling of regret and intrigue all the same.
"That is not to say I am not curious still about what lies beyond there, but having you attempt to help me confirms that we all ought to investigate other things in the lodge and agree that this particular avenue is futile. Erm... well... probably, that is. I had merely assumed that you being the tallest of us would also mean you were the strongest physically, but perhaps I was wrong..?"

Ootani takes back his drink, cradling the cup in his hands. Deciding to take a sip, he listened to Mukizu's thoughts, glancing back at the door and eyeing the knob. However, upon the butler questioning his strength, he almost choked on his coco in surprise.
Almost, but not quite.
Before he could choke on his coco again, he placed the cup back down. Sputtering a bit before he managed to make himself stop.
Grabbing his cup once more, he looks back at the door.

—— The strong reaction that Ootani makes at first with his drink makes the butler worry that the beverage is not to the other male's liking. The motto of "every man merely wants three things: a clean toilet, a warm bed, and a hot meal" runs through the blond's mind alarmingly, and he was just about ready to dare state that he'll make an even better cup of hot cocoa to remedy the situation had the architect not soon spoken up afterwards and reminded Mukizu of the comments he had made earlier.
Nice save.
The specificity of Ootani's humility makes the butler chuckle a bit, lessening the dark cloud looming over his head.
"Second or third you say...? Then who may I ask do you think is stronger than you? Not that I shall try and enlist their help because you may be right about this door but... Well, you may call it a young boy's curiosity to know who the 'head honcho' is."
He wonders if he should have described his half-joke in a more eloquent manner but ultimately decides that the other probably does not care.
"The next answer would be to find a key, would it not? Though all our keys seem to function simultaneously as ID cards and maps... unless Krampusuke and Santako were to hold similar keys to us."

It doesn't seem as if he even noticed that there was a joke in Mukizu's inquiry. Seeming to take it at face value. Closing his eyes, he took another sip to think of an answer.
Ootani looked back at the butler before finishing his coco.

—— He takes the response he gets in return very seriously, a little surprised to get one with actual thought put into it. He half-expected the architect to just joke around and suggest perhaps someone like Suzuki was hiding immense strength, but an actual answer did give the butler an idea-- and idea he would store for later if possible.
"Swimmers are very strong, I agree. If I recall correctly, Hirase-sama seemed to be quite well-built despite her short stature as well; her abs were particularly telling."
Why were you looking.
"As for Yanagi-sama... I would like to learn more about him, understand where his strengths lie. I suppose he could be an intellectual genius, a superhuman athlete, and a prodigy at any art for all the little information we have on him... or perhaps, in the best case scenario, the most average out of all of us."
He sighs. Mysteries weren't his favorite if he had to be honest. His slight irritation at it all shifted when Ootani suggested a more underhanded tactic in infiltrating the locked room.
"Ahahaha.... Lockpicking, huh? I don't suppose you have much experience with that, do you, Ootani-sama?"

Blink, blink, blink.
He...didn't know what to think about the comment on Hirase, if he were to be honest. Sure, he thought she looked well-built, but the abs? Seriously?
But, at the very least, he could understand where Mukizu was coming from when it came to Yanagi. He couldn't help but be a tiny bit curious as to what he was capable of. However, it looked like this subject made the butler irritated, so Ootani decided to discontinue the previous discussion of strengths.
Especially since there was another problem wanting his attention. Putting on his sweater's right sleeve, he shook his head.
And if there's no lock pickers? Then they're screwed.

—— The butler couldn't say he was too surprised by the lack of experience that Ootani has-- and by the look of it, he seemed a little amused by it. Mukizu began to reach out his hand only to quickly retract it, trying to play it off as a flourish of the hand in naturally conversing. How embarrassing was it that he was about to try and treat the other, a near stranger, like a child and ruffle his hair? Not to mention that the difficulty of such an action dawned on him very quickly what with the architect's tall height and hat.
The spontaneous recovery of such a habit that he had thought died long ago was a bit startling-- especially with many situations where one would be fulfilling the "big brother" role being replaced with his career's roles instead.
Still, the gentle smile stayed upon the male's face and he replied without skipping a beat.
"Don't worry too much about it, Ootani-sama."
Mukizu began to rub at the back of his own neck, averting his gaze and chuckling lightly a bit as he reluctantly admitted:
"Actually... I've picked quite a few locks myself before if I am to be honest with you. As I continue this honesty streak, however, the lock on this door in particular is... perplexing to me."

He didn't even think twice about Mukizu's little mistake-- merely thinking that this was how he normally moved when talking. However, there was also something else that had distracted him from even mentioning that little slip up.
"You've....picked locks."
Well, to say he was surprised was an understatement, never did he think that Mukizu would pick locks! He expected someone else, like, maybe Osatsu or the Marugou. But never the butler.
"Huh.., you learn something new everyday." He raises an eyebrow at the other once the lock was described as 'perplexing'. If the design was perplexing enough for him, then perhaps there's no hope for anyone else to pick it open?
Crossing his arms, Ootani frowned a bit at that conclusion, "That's not a good sign, maybe the people who created this lodge really didn't want us to barge into this room. ...If so, then I don't think another person would be any help."
Looking back at the lock, he lightly scratching his cheek, thinking, "Perhaps there's some clue of how to get it open by checking this building, but we're limited in what parts we're allowed to check..."
Man, this was frustrating.
