🐧 --- Surprisingly, since they were pretty much stuck in this ski lodge, it didn't take Osatsu long before they bumped into a certain architect. Given that the comedian expected to take a lot more time for this, it came as a surprise to them. They had entered into the library after wandering around the first floor for a bit, planning to retire for a bit so that they could play with their new 'present'. (They're convinced that it's something bad, but hey, that's never stopped Osatsu from doing stupid shit. And this was a phone. It was kind of cool, even if they couldn't trust it a single bit.) Surprisingly, (note: not really) they weren't going to be alone in the library. Seeing Ootani off to the side, staring blankly at... what they could assume was an empty space was almost enough to make them smirk-- possibly scheme up a prank because god did they love bothering the easily distracted ones-- but they held back on it for now. God, stop it with that creepy shift in your tone, Osatsu. --- 🐧

He was supposed to be looking through his ID card.
Or so he told himself twenty minutes ago before he entered the library. But here he is, staring into space while holding a book. It wasn't until Osatsu had made themself known that he moved-- by jumping in surprise.
And there goes the book, soaring through the air! Before landing right onto the architect's head-- er, well, hat.
Turning his head, Ootani blinked at the comedian, taking a moment before realizing they had just addressed him.

🐧 --- The comedian's eyes silently followed the trajectory of the book as it flew up in the air, before coming back down and on the architect's head. What must go up must come down, as someone said-- though Osatsu couldn't be fucked to really remember and cite that in their thoughts. It's not like the plagiarism police would infiltrate their thoughts and arrest them on the spot for that. That'd just be silly.
Either way, that moment was pure comedic genius. Or well, accidental comedic genius, really. It was something that you'd see in a comedy movie or series on television-- and it got Osatsu's approval as a ghost of a genuine smile appeared on their face, with a light-hearted chuckle following after it. Except, it had a softer ring to it-- far different from their dry, calculative chuckles that they've let out. And then that ghost of a smile fades away as fast as it had appeared, instantly reverting back to their neutral, but distant demeanor. --- 🐧

Oh, he made Osatsu laugh! That's a first.
Grabbing the book from the top of his head, he placed the book under his right arm, before adjusting his hat with his left. Once his hat was adjusted properly, Ootani smiled at them before grabbing the book again.
Tapping his chin with a corner of the book, he closed his eyes.

🐧 ---Now, they weren't really knowledgeable in the sort of nitty gritty details of it, but they did know more of the controversial aspects of it. To them, those were the more interesting things than anything else than that could ever offer. Humans liked to read things out of the ordinary to sate their curiosity and fascination of perspectives that they would never be able to live in-- and Osatsu was still unfortunately as human as the rest of humanity. --- 🐧

Placing the book back onto its spot in the shelf, the Architect shook his head.
A few times was definitely the understatement of the century.
Already looking through the next shelf, Ootani hummed a bit for a moment, trying to think of an answer to the comedian's inquiry. Finally finding a book, he nodded.

And just like that, the book Ootani grabbed was already in Osatsu's hands. Before the comedian could interject, he waved a hand and looked for another book.
He looked back at his current companion, right as he was about to grab a book.

🐧 --- They didn't exactly expect a book to be placed in their hands after they had half-jokingly asked for recommendations. However, when they looked down at the cover, there's a moment where their eyes widened slightly in recognition, with a little twinkle of what seemed to be delight in them. The ends of their mouth almost twitch up before they drop everything the second they realized that whatever emotion they were experiencing was showing on their face, choosing to give out a simple sigh
(Right, right-- can't look too happy or excited about these things.)
With a glance up at Ootani, they give him a very neutral, if not disinterested look on their face.

With his attention onto the book he recently grabbed, it looks like he had missed their little moment of excitement. However, while he may missed it, he sure didn't miss that sigh of theirs.
...But he won't comment on it. Especially Osatsu's question required more attention.
While karma and mortality were subjects that required thinking, the wat Queen Steven had written the stories, made it so that there was little time to think. Which was perfect for the architect.
