🐧 --- There was a scoff that came from the comedian when Shimakage continued to insist-- or well, argue that Yanagi was truly innocent, but instead of making a proper response, they just waved their hand in the air in front of them in a casual manner, as if to brush the topic off. Though, after that, they reverted into a observer state, watching the trial go on and on in an idle state. It wasn't as if they had anything pressing to say. Nothing they found-- well, aside for a few things-- was all that interesting to talk about. They continued to observe the trial go on and on, playing around with the doll in their hands until, finally, they got tired of listening. A laugh. --- 🐧

Isayama had shyly spoken up once Shimakage had said her name and asked her a question.
"O-oh...um... Yes.... I guess Yanagi-san did smell a bit... off when we all were together in the wooded area...."
She had fell again silent until Osatsu had finished speaking. She could not help but give a immediate nod and smile at what the comedian spoken.
With a determined look, she had spoken up, agreeing with Osatsu.
"Osatsu-san has a point."
"A very, very, strong point I might add."
"Hearing about each others alibis now- would be of great importance. However also, with Utazawa-san being the one with the snowboard- it would directly conflict with the theory of Hirase-san being the person who left those tracks."
"It would also mean- I think- we can trust on what Hirase-san has told us."
"Also- continuing on Osatsu-san's words about hypothermia- it would make senses that Hirase-san was not out there deliberately, dressed as she was, in the cold- risking her own life."
"I mean- there be no reason for her to work with the killer- then just stand there in the cold with no heating and proper winter attire."
She had softened her determined gaze and turned it into a gentle one.
"Like Hirase-san said- there would be no reward in going that route- to help someone hurt another, and that especially fits for her case- where she had more consequences then any awards."
"So I think we can trust her. Even if at all just a little bit. We can trust her."
She had given Hirase a friendly smile, happy to defend her peer, even if it was useless- she been doing what she could to help.
Her eyes had turned to the class.
"So- going by what we have already.... Can everyone please state where you were before and after 2:45 PM?"
"And if it is not much to ask- if anyone besides Ishida-san, Ootani-san, and Yamato-san had seen the body before the announcement, please do speak up, I promise no one will scratch you for speaking your mind."
"Unless- we are assuming that a accomplice would count as a person who seen the body before the announcement.... But would Krampusuke-sensei really count that? Would accomplices really count?"

🐧 --- They raise one of the doll's paws up with a finger. With a glance over to where the golfer stood, they give him a smile. A laugh escapes them. Looking down at the doll in their hands, they wiggle it around some more, before seeming to move on from the topic as if it were something... well, insignificant. Oh, Osatsu. --- 🐧

Ootani taps his pencil against his chin, closing his eyes in thought. Considering how his day went..., he'd probably need to recall a bit more than just the ten minutes before 2:45. He looks to his left side to look at Yamato. At the very least, he now has an answer to what the hell Utazawa was carrying-- at least he hopes he does. It'd be pretty embarrassing if it turned out the popstar wasn't carrying the snowboard. But that aside-- he still needed to continue. He shakes his head, deciding not to finish that sentence. They all knew that he ended up finding her..., just not alive. Tapping his pencil on his sketchbook, Ootani looks down at the page with the footprint. One of the few people he actually knew from outside of this school life and she's dead. ..Great.

Takane huffs slightly and folds his arms, eyeing Shimakage with disapproval. His own irritation is clear on his face, only becoming more and more clear as the accusations against him continue to be thrown.
"You needn't be so defensive, I'm just doing my best to figure out the truth of all of this. People seem to only be taking it on faith that he was where he was, and a perceived smell of garbage. It's not airtight. With regards to the club being hidden, of course it would be hidden. A murder weapon put right out there would be an obvious bit of framing. Hiding it under the leaves is just enough work to make it look legitimate while still leaving it in a place where it can easily be found. It was right there at the scene of the crime, waiting to be found. My involvement with the murder begins and ends with discovering the body."
He takes a moment to look over at Osatsu as he finishes speaking, making it clear that what he said was directed towards them as well.

Isayama had felt tension rising in the air. Oh... Dear.
Things were going to escalate unless she did something, huh? She had hoped not, but for the sake of saftey... Maybe she would provide a guiding voice.
"Oh dear~- um, please, lets all settle down a try to figure all this out calmly- I know things may seem like a blur for now, but if we work hard together- we can figure it out!"
She was practically trying to evade a fight from happening now.
Great priorities Isayama, great priorities.

Takane's irritated expression gave way to one of total shock.
"What kind of insult is that? Bougie prick..."

🐧 --- Silently, they chanted 'fight fight fight' to themself at the sight of Shimakage starting to lose his patience with Ishida, and Ishida being... well, Ishida. It was interesting, really, to see how a trial like this has taken it's toll on everyone. People are starting to doubt, to lose their patience with others-- it was quite... well, to borrow their words from before, just a little interesting to see. But they were snapped out of their thoughts at the sound of Isayama trying to defuse the situation, and for a moment, Osatsu pondered on the usefulness of it. Really, it was a situation that was bound to happen in a murder trial full of kids who all most likely either want to go home, or want to live a peaceful life. What good does it do to quell anger that was always going to happen no matter what? Wouldn't it be better to vent it out? ...Though, well, they could settle to bandwagon just a bit on something like this. Then their tone changes into more of a sing-songy manner, as they slightly tilt their head to the side. --- 🐧

Uncharastically for her, Madoka kept quiet after her accusiations, silently listening to the counters and everything else that happened afterwards. This case was a much bigger mess than the previous one, because as of right now, there were three people that could've done it in her opinion.
It was best to ask her third suspect to give out their alibi, huh? Especially when they were soon running out of time anyway. Therefore, Madoka turned her head to face Utazawa and addressed him:"Utazawa, please tell us what you've been doing from midday until the body announcement came. After all, you were the one who brought the snowboard to the lift station - so we definitely need to hear from you whta you've done with it."

"Huh?" He stared at Madoka, completely shocked that he's even involved. He was pretty sure he was mentioned once or twice before, but he just shook it off, believing it as nothing. "Geez, you really think I'd pull this kind of shit? Whatever."
"For starters, I couldn't have left the note, or at least couldn't have been the one she was looking for. I was in the kitchen at 1:00, seen by Isayama, and then went upstairs, seen by Nagareboshi. So, yeah. It was 1:45 when I went to the supply closet. After that, I wanted to go snowboarding. But I didn't /actually/ get to do shit with it, shouldn't one of you people know that?" He looks to Osatsu. "Penguin over there found me at the waiting area at like, 2:30, and I just left the snowboard there. That's it. I didn't do anything else. After that, I played Oni with the group. Suzuki and I were both hiding in the supply closet until the announcement happened. Are you satisfied, ma'am?"

Oh right, she completely forgot that Utazawa had been seen by Isayama at the time when the culprit met the victim. The detective simply nods, but not without saying a few more flat-sounding words:"Oh, stop acting like I'd suspect you because of my dislike for you. I simply forgot that Isayama did testify in meeting you at the kitchen at 1 pm. Sue me for being human and forgetting a fact once in a while, too. And it would've helped if you just said testified sooner, so we would've been better informed about the whole snowboard business."
Well, guess it was back to the two initial suspects, then - and Shimakage brought up a good point. If Utazawa just left the snowboard there, then there's not doubt that the culprit themself had to use it. And the only one who fit that would be--
Wait a minute. There's something else that they didn't covered at all yet. Internally, Madoka cursed herself for not thinking about that particular instance sooner. Thus, she didn't waste any time to speak up again:"That's true. The only one who was trapped down there was Hirase and the trails couldn't have been made prior to 2:30 pm. Don't forget that they were still wet and had mud on them when I discovered them down at the lift station. Not to mention, there's something else that we entirely overlooked - the position of the body. Do you all remember how we found her? She was lying on the lift rather... oddly. Especially the leg that was up seemed almost like as if it was deliberately put there to keep her from falling down. I mean, just think about it - if she really went to the lift while still alive, she would sit normally and rather get ahold of the steel rods right besides here. You know, the ones connected to the cords. So if anything, if she really did die there, she would've either been slumped there or - what would be far more likely - simply fell off the lift altogether."
Her brown eyes pierced right through Hirase, eyebrows slightly furrowed:"How do you explain any of that, Hirase? Actually, you never shared your entire alibi with us - same goes to Ishida. Would you two please comply and tell us what you've been up to until the body announcement?"

Hirase, surprised to be addressed again, twiddled her thumbs. Everyone was busy arguing whether or not Yanagi was the trash man (he was) or if Ishida was a bougie prick (he was), so hearing her name mentioned was just about the last thing she expected.
"Um. Marugou-san, isn't it possible that someone was waiting at the top? Like, what if Tenshin-san was alive when she reached the top, but someone killed her at the top? But, ah, the snowboard, that's...hmm."
Hirase paused for a moment, trying to come up with an explanation. Instead, she just shrugged and lifted her arms up in defeat.
"Guess I got cornered, huh? Yeah, it was my fault. Part of what I said was true, though. Tenshin-san was already injured when I saw her. She tried to attack me...so I pushed her. I panicked and used too much force and she hit her head on a tree. She stopped trying to attack me, so I tried to rush her to the Central Area, where I could administer first aid, but..." Hirase wrapped her arms around herself before continuing. "While we were on the lift, she died. I was too slow. I shouldn't have tried to move her. I shouldn't have panicked or I could've saved her...!"
A shaky breath. She placed a hand over her heart, trying to slow her own heartbeat.
"I got what I wanted, though. I just wanted to know who attacked her in the first place, so I'll accept any punishment you have for me." She giggled, but the laughter didn't reach her eyes. "It's not like I could just go back to my job knowing that I couldn't save Tenshin-san's life. Right, dear viewers?"

Takane grit his teeth, listening to Shimakage's retort and clenching the podium in front of him with a white-knuckled grip. The shock he felt earlier had faded, but he didn't return to simple irritation. It was far past irritation now, evolved into anger only kept in check by the knowledge that he already looked bad and if he lost it here, every single person watching—either from their podium or from their television screen—would be able to see it.
"spoiled, boring rich kid? That's all you think of me? Just because my talents lay in an 'old man sport'? That's it, correct? I don't care about this sport, I could have come here for near anything, I'm a prodigy. Resting on the success of my own parents? The idea of that is detestable, but I suppose it's much easier for you to see me as someone who was born into everything he had. I worked for it all, but maybe it's just maddening to think that I was given so much and even then I'm only going to use my own strength to gain even more. I'm the son of the Ishida family, I'm going to be in charge of assets worth more than your life, and I'm going to work for it! Resent me for what I have, but the next time you insinuate that I'm just a spoiled rich boy, remember that—"
He cut himself off, slammed a single fist against his podium, and looked towards Hirase before looking to his shoes. His anger was still clear on his face, but he spoke in a neutral, if forced tone.
"It's all meaningless now anyways. I might as well be a murderer. And now you have what you wanted to know, Hirase-san, and you can die with your cleared conscience."

They arrived at an answer.
Madoka listened to Hirase's words; how she accidentally pushed Tenshin into the tree after getting attacked by the panicked girl. How she tried to get her to the central area, so she could get proper treatment for her injuries. How Tenshin died at the way there and thus, leading up to this situation in the first place. Albeit she was the one who delivered the last blow and thus, the labeled killer they were looking for, Madoka was far more mad at a certain someone else.
With cold eyes, she stared straight at Ishida, tone icy as she addressed him:"Shut up, Ishida. I don't care for your 'sob story' or how much you think you're a prodigy or whatever, but right now, you're nothing more than a lying piece of shit that can't be trusted. You're hereby removed from your guarding duties - and I don't think anyone here will have an objection to that after finding out that you were willing to kill an innocent girl for a stupid scrap of paper. Congratulations, you played yourself like a goddamn fiddle."
Huffing after getting that out of her system, Madoka's eyes went back to Hirase, softening to a more neutral mode. When she directed her words towards Hirase, her voice was more even then it was a minute ago:"... It's too bad that it had to end like that, Hirase. If it would be possible, I'd vote for Ishida instead, as he was the one who enabled this entire mess to begin with, but I doubt that Krampusuke would chalk it up as the correct answer. He's a twisted, stupid gremlin, after all. I'm... sorry it had to come to this."
(If there was any kind of murder that Madoka could sympathize with at all, it would be self-defense. Even more so when there was an attempt at rescuing said victim.)

Shimakage isn't surprised by how out of touch with reality Ishida seemed to be - he is rich, after all, and rich people were always too self-absorbed to think rationally - and though every fiber in his body tells him to stop poking the bear, he can't help but grit his teeth with every word that leaves Ishida's lips. And then he turns to Hirase, lips curled into a grin. Unfortunately for the lifeguard, Shimakage Seitaro lacks empathy, so while he's certain some of their classmates will be there to comfort her, he certainly isn't going to be one of them. Nevertheless, the least he can do is provide her with an outlet, of sorts, so without a word, he thrusts the blood-stained golf club forward, as though he expects her to take it. (He doesn't feel bad, but he can be kind to her in his own way, he supposes.)

Once again, he was wrong.
(Also, shoeless.)
Staring quietly at Ishida even as he rambled about how hard his life was as a rich teenage boy, Yanagi's eyes glazed over- he didn't have time to listen to this, they had a murderer to catch- at least, well, until Hisae finally spoke up, and Yanagi's heart sank. Last time had been so easy, so easy to not feel bad for her, but here, now--
(Rich assholes exploiting others for their own gain with no consequence? Seize the means, Yanagi-kun?)
He felt the burn of acid in his throat. He wanted to turn and give Hisae words of comfort, some sort of reassurance, but what could he say? What was there to say when the reality was, whatever good intentions she had, someone was still dead because of her. While he wanted, briefly, to question who this Tonya woman was that Shimakage had mentioned, the sting of acid was too strong, burning his words as well, and Yanagi was silent, watching the proceedings with a frown.
At least, for a little while.
"What was on the paper? What was so important?"
